Wednesday, June 24th, 2009

Today we went to the library and checked out new books, helped granny with her sewing machine, and went out to Aunt Ruth's house to work. Later we had dinner to celebrate James turning 10 ...and wrapped up the day with ice cream and cake!

Piano Lesson Day...While Chelsea is taking her piano lessons on Monday mornings, Callie and I sit on the porch and read her library books together. She really is doing very well - Yesterday we saw a Chicken Truck turning off the county road and slowly starting up the road...I pointed it out to Callie and she said "so that is where the grocery store gets all of its chicken?"...I laughed, because I just assumed that she already understood the concept of meat is from dead animals???? It really didn't seem to bother her...she just seemed to make a connection - And we went back to reading "A Dog named Blue"

Father's Day 6-20-09

For Father's Day we took the girls to see UP in 3D at the movies ..it was a cute movie, but also very sad in places...Charlie said that he didn't think he had ever seen anyone cry that much during a cartoon - it was sad! We then went out to eat at Friday's, went to Sam's, and Target, and then headed home...It was a great way to celebrate Father's Day.

Saturday, June 20th

OK...Saturday was Katie's Baby Shower....I made the cake...yes it was ugly. Charlie said it looked like a curly haired pony - and it did. The cake pan that you use for a rocking horse is the same pan used to make a lamb...and you know the cake is ugly when no one wants to take their picture with it. But that is OK because everyone said it tasted great! Katie had a good shower and with that event June is coming to an end....We have had so much going on that it has been hard to keep up with the blog because we are busy, but not with the sort of things that you want to share with the entire world.

Friday, June 12th

Today we started by going to the vet, post office, and city hall...then we went out to Aunt Ruth's house to help her hang more pictures. Things are beginning to look really good. Cindy came out to help because we got off to a rocky start and didn't know whether to cry, scream, or do both. It all started when we realized that we used the wrong measurements and bought the wrong size table cloth, then while trying to hang curtains we broke the curtain rod, and the curtains for the small windows were too long! We will take back the table cloth, Cindy and Mike fixed the curtain rod, and I used my machine to sew up the curtains so that they were no longer too long. Chelsea and Callie took a swim in the pool and in the blink of an eye the day was gone!...This is a picture grouping in the living room...

Wednesday, June 10th "Laney and Leanna"

Today Laney and Leanna stayed with us until Jenny was released from the hospital. Laney is way too cute! We went out to Aunt Ruth's to hang pictures on the wall, made Jenny a meat loaf, and then before we knew it the day was over. All of this baby sitting really is fun, but makes me very thankful that my tubes are cut, tied and fried! I know that sounds awful, but your emotions can play tricks on you, and I like that my girls are somewhat house broke and pretty close to being public trained...having little ones is hard. I like being the Aunt because at the end of the day...I can SEND them HOME! Chelsea and Callie went swimming with baby James and Ruth helped catch me some baby chickens that she hatched out...they are so cool...I now have 6 very unusual chicks to add to my collection...they have long feather clumps on their heads and feathers on their legs and feet (I will take some pictures to post soon).

Tuesday, June 9th "Abby and Wes"

OK...Today we kept Abby and Wes for Aunt Jill...We had so much fun. Abby was her Aunt Amanda's girl today she shadowed me at everything I did...we folded clothes, baked a cake, cleaned the kitchen...etc. While I was in the kitchen Abby went and found Chelsea's American Girl Doll chairs and brought them to sit in the middle of the kitchen floor with me....she was so cute and at one time Wes came and had a seat also, but he did not sit still long, he is WAY too busy.

1st Week of Summer Vacation

Wow! What a busy first week of Summer Vacation...We had Vacation Bible School, Piano Lessons, Swiming lessons with Aunt Ruth, and Brandy and Sam's Baby Shower! Hoepefully Week #2 will be a lot slower. Chelsea really made a great deal of progress with her swimming, and Callie is going to use the floaties a little longer...Aunt Ruth had a hard time giving her instructions, because she would hear the first step and dive in without listening to what came next...Ruth said that they were going to try to swim under water, and Callie immediately said "great" and jumped in...Ruth had to pull her back to the top, and I put her floaties BACK ON!!!!
